It’s Halloween today and in honour of that I’m posting a review:
Here’s a “Scary Skeleton” sweet that cost me 39p from the local newsagent:
I bought it because I liked the plastic container of whatever mystery sweets were inside and not many sweets come in plastic housings these days… I was swayed by this when deciding what to get.
How can you say no to a face like that?
It turned out the skeleton contained a kind of sherbet; the technical description of the product was “powder filled” (whatever that means) and I found it satisfying enough, a bit like sour sugar.
The head screws off the body to facilitate access to the powder so it isn’t suitable for small children who are prone to choking to death on things like this, but I found it wasn’t an issue for me.
I fed my baby daughter some of the powder on finger and she seemed to like it, she didn’t cry (or grow an extra head) only drooled a bit more than usual so I guess it’s OK for babies too!
In closing I would recommend this product to anyone who’s nostalgic about cheap plastic housings sweets used to come supplied in.
After taking photos of the skeleton guy (I’m still not sure what I can re-purpose his body for) I carved this pumpkin:
A Raven sitting on top of a skull, I will carve it, nevermore.
Here ends the most enthusiastic I’ve ever been about Halloween.
